We owe her that Živković Samardžić firm is a trendsetter for sensitive employment cases and issues today, and a highly acclaimed office in this area. In the course of 14 years at the head of the employment team she managed to continuously develop Živković Samardžić firm further, both in the practice as well as structurally. She thereby provided the Živković Samardžić brand with a strong expert impact. We are grateful that she advised and supported the founding partners since its beginning and also after reorganization at the beginning of the year 2013. This now allows our office a smooth further development. We are sad that she is leaving us.”

In 2010 she took over as Junior Partner, and at the end of 2013. she became a Partner.
Nebojša Samardžić, Senior Partner: “Last week, I proudly presented the promotion of two Partners, Kruna and Ana, as well as one Senior Associate, Ivan, and a big “thank-you” to all the well-wishers. Now, it’s been a bit awkward for me in days like these, after more than 10 + years cooperating with Jovana, to split from her and to announce that she will continue to work on other tasks outside of the firm. I want once again to thank Jovana for bringing all colleagues together, on her intellectual passion, the spirit of experimentation and aesthetic elegance. Going forward, this can only mean that the values that Jovana stood up for, during her career in law office Živković Samardžić – were our values”.
Jovana specializes in Employment law and was a member of the Employment Law Alliance (ELA), world’s largest network of labour and employment lawyers. During her career, she was elected to the position of Vice Chair of Am Cham Serbia Labour Committee and at the end of 2016 she stepped down as Vice Chair and focused on the position of Labour Regulation Task Force Manager. Jovana’s consulting expertise is primarily focused on executive terminations, redundancies, reorganization management, union negotiations and employment disputes resolution. Moreover, she is an experienced intellectual property lawyer. As a Partner and head of Živković Samardžić Employment practices, she was also ranked individually, by leading legal directory Chambers and Partners, for her counsel on sensitive employment cases, her expert command of employment litigation, union negotiations work and counsel provided on redundancies arising from changes in staff structure within companies.
Jovana Tomić: ”After 14 years at Živković Samardžić it’s hard for me to leave this firm to which I owe my whole career. I know that clients and colleagues are, with Ana Popović, Kruna Savović, other promoted partners and all the other fantastic team, in the very best hands. With this, I can now look towards new challenges. Although I’ve been in the firm for more than 14 years, I don’t have the feeling of doing the same work at all, because every few years I get the chance to experience something new. I began as a Trainee on a beginning, and since then have been involved in everything that can be done in law practice. Last 8 years, I got the chance to work for the office as a Partner, which was an unbelievable experience for me. In no other law office are the speed and creativity so important. I had the opportunity to test my limitations and to prepare for what all lawyers can expect in the future. This is the best thing law office can give you: the opportunity to improve and prepare yourself for the time to come”, said Jovana.
