The Bar Association of Serbia has elected Nebojša Samardžić, Živković Samardžić Senior Partner, to serve as a vice chairman of the Bar Association of Serbia Disciplinary Tribunal.
The Bar Association of Serbia Disciplinary Tribunal is a body consisting a chairman, vice chairman and 16 judges, all elected by the Assembly of the Bar Association of Serbia, to consider disciplinary cases against members of the Bar Association, attorneys and trainee attorneys, on appeals following first instance decisions of disciplinary tribunals of the regional bar associations.
A range of sanctions available to the disciplinary tribunal in relation to its determinations is ranging from admonitions and fines to disbarring of the lawyers.
“I am very honored and, at the same time, certain that the elections we had, not only for the disciplinary tribunal posts, but even more for the president and vice president of the Bar, will allow us to move forward from the problems we had within our profession recently,“ Samardžić said.
