Law on the Registration Procedure with the Real Estate Cadaster and Utilities has been changed several times in the past two years, mostly concerning simplifying relations between the cadaster and other authorities and implementation of information technologies in almost every segment of cadastral operations, which contributes simpler and faster registration procedures.
On February 24, 2020 National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia enacted a Law on changes of the Law on the Registration Procedure with the Cadaster of Real Estate and Utilities (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, No. 15/2020) which shall come into effect on March 3, 2020.
The most significant effects of the adopted changes refer to registering annotations and acceleration of the real estate cadaster procedures, where the decisions of the real estate cadaster will now be published on the Republic Geodetic Authority website, upon signing. In addition, the 30 days deadline for entry into force will begin to run once the decision is published on the site.
Amongst other changes, real estate cadaster decisions can now be delivered in the form of an electronic document, via e-mail. For the parties that doesn’t have registered e-mail addresses, decision will be delivered through postal service. In case the post office official fail to deliver the decision in person, the party will now have 15 days, instead of 24 hours, to obtain the decision in the local post office.
