Živković Samardžić represented Gazprom Neft before the Serbian Intellectual Property Office in the procedure regarding the national registration of the trademark „Makes the Difference“. After initially refusing to protect this trademark for the reason of it not being distinctive, Serbian IPO accepted the reasons stated in the response to the refusal, changed its decision and registered this trademark. Additionally, Živković Samardžić successfully represented Gazprom Neft in the several earlier proceedings related to the protection of the particular trademarks, the most interesting of which, from the legal point of view, were those consisting of the combination of various colours, which Serbian IPO also initially found not sufficiently distinctive.
